Wang ZhaoBing

Advanced Craft Art Museum in Jingdezhen City

Ambassador, ceramic art ambassador favored by Chinese collectors, managing director of the China National Flower Garden Ceramic Art Exchange Center, special painter at the Jiangxi Branch of the Chinese National Flower Garden, director of the Changnan Ceramic Research Institute of the Chinese National Flower Garden, and art director at the Jingdezhen Artist Factory, director of the Pyeongsan Yao Ceramic Calligraphy and Painting Center, art advisor of Jingdezhen Sanguan Yao Ceramic Center, the 3rd inheritor of Jingdezhen ‘Zhou Shan Pal Wu’, Wang Lao Jeong family, son of Jingdezhen ‘Zhou Shan So Pal Wu’ Wang So-jeong.

From a young age, Wang ZhaoBing learned pottery painting following his father Wang XiaoZheng, and under the influence of his father’s Enchantism, and because he received direct guidance and orders from his aunt Wang GuiYing (a master of Chinese crafts), Wang ZhaoBing’s art developed dramatically. As a result, he gained deep knowledge of the Wang School’s landscape, water, and painting, and showed an innovative spirit in the Jingdezhen art world in the 1980s and earned deep praise from a wide range of ceramics collectors.

Wang ZhaoBing’s paintings cover a lot of his country’s homeland and his country’s mountains and rivers and scenic spots, and he himself is skilled in powder painting, ink painting, wooden painting, landscape painting, and figure painting. He himself gained a deep understanding of the essence of traditional art by understanding pottery materials, tools, process standards, and process changes before and after firing and baking. The ink-and-ink sculpture of the work does not reveal outstanding craftsmanship, but rather connotes emotions and feelings as it swims and swirls with each stroke flapping its wings. The powdered colored pottery he painted is free from craftsmanship, and brilliantly covers composition that has bright colors, clear landscape and is glossy.

Wang ZhaoBing was born in a pottery family, and his pen name in the shining Damengpa landscape is Joongim, so he must not only inherit, but also not innovate, and must have his own products. His grandfather, Wang Luzheng, is good at painting landscapes, and his father, Wang Xiaozheng, is a member of the ‘Zhou Shanxiao Eight Friends’ group and is known as a famous Jingdezhen porcelain artist. From a young age, he followed them, learned landscape painting and laid the foundation for creating landscape paintings that fostered the royal school.

Innovating while inheriting the landscape. Even technique has its own style. He cited the biggest difference between Wangpa landscape painting and traditional artists as whether it is possible to inject emotions into ceramic paintings and create ceramic works with new aesthetics, mood, and meaning. So, he collected styles from all around, took many pictures of landscapes, studied them, locked them up in his house, and recreated the work using his memories of the photographic images and his own artistic ideas. Therefore, his work was able to combine the concept of the screen landscape, the completeness of the screen composition, the power of the brush and ink, the painting technique of landscape trees and trees, and the technique of landscape design all in one place.
